- Behind the toilet tank where condensation runs down onto the floor
What Actually Fixes It
Run the exhaust fan during the shower and for twenty minutes afterward — a timer switch handles this reliably. Confirm the fan vents outside. Reseal failed grout and caulk. Fix dripping fixtures immediately.
If growth returns after cleaning and the ventilation is genuinely adequate, water is getting into the assembly from somewhere and the problem is behind the surface, not on it.
